Sayan’s friend said that he was suffering from acute breathing trouble and he felt unconscious while rushing down from the trek. “He was immediately rushed to Dewal government hospital and doctors declared him dead upon arrival,” the friend added.
The body of the deceased is expected to be brought back to Kolkata on Sunday and three of his friends are assisting the family in every possible way, The Times of India reported.
According to a family member of the deceased, “Sayan first visited Haridwar and other holy places. Upon reaching Rishikesh, they went on a trek to Brahmatal and Sayan last spoke to his parents on Wednesday. On Saturday, we came to know about his death.”
A neighbour of the deceased said, “Sayan was a brilliant student and he was very well-behaved. He was very fond of mountains and trekking.”
