By Anirban Sinha Roy: Kolkata held its first-ever pet carnival, Furry Fiesta, on Monday. Residents turned up with their beloved dogs, all dressed to the nines, as they enjoyed the event organised by Furry Tales, a well-known and licensed dog boarding and creche.
The pet fashion show was the event’s primary draw. At the show, different dog species dressed in vibrant costumes and stylish outfits caught people’s attention.

The pet parents were spotted enjoying a day out with their fur babies. Saptarshi Gupta, a founding member of Furry Tales, said, “This is for the first time we are doing this. As we have a reputed boarding and creche for pets. And now, to make it more attractive and jovial, we have arranged something different for the pet animals.”

Along with the fashion show, Furry Tales organised a variety of games and activities for entertainment for this pet festival in Kolkata’s Ruby neighborhood. Advice on breed selection, the value of dog training and handling, and the necessity of dog behavior correction classes were all provided.
The method, dos and don’ts regarding adopting indigenous dogs, abandoned dogs (regardless of breed), and free medical camps for pets were all present to encourage existing pet parents and to-be pet parents.

Another organizer of the Carnival, Sayantani Chatterjee, said, “We have organized this carnival this time in a big way. Pet fashion show, pet photography and selfie zones, ball pit area, food stalls, accessories stalls, and many more”.
The eye-catching and prominent event made pet owners pleased since it gave their pets a chance to play in the open with other pets.
