Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Mahesh Bhatt will grace the inaugural ceremony of the Kolkata International Film Festival that is being held in Kolkata from today. The event will take place at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in the evening.
According to the invite that has gone out, Amitabh Bachchan will declare the festival open with Shah Rukh Khan as the guest of honour. Director Mahesh Bhatt and actor Shatrughan Sinha who has now joined the TMC party, will be speaking at opening ceremony. India’s former cricket captain Sourav Ganguly will also be part of the guest list.
The evening will also see Jaya Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Kumar Sanu and Arijit Singh in attendance. West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee will also be part of the inaugural ceremony with the state’s Governor Dr CV Anand Bose being the Chief Guest.
Amitabh Bachchan and director Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Abhimaan which also feature Jaya Bachchan as the lead, will be the opening film of the festival. Films of Dilip Kumar, Asit Sen and Hrishikesh Mukherjee will also be showcased at the festival along with dozens of new Indian and international films and short films that will compete in the competitive segments.
