Kolkata: 8-month-old child killed during family scuffle – Times of India

KOLKATA: An eight-month-old girl was killed during a scuffle between two sister-in-laws at a Rajarhat household on Friday evening.
Police said, Shahnaz Khatun (22) was trying to calm down the two quarrelling women and their family members at their house in Rajarhat’s Raigachi when one of the women, Yasmina Bibi and four others snatched the baby girl from Shahnaz and allegedly threw her away on the floor leading to severe head injuries.
While a section of family members and neighbours rushed to the hospital carrying the baby, another group started manhandling Yasmina and the four other family members till cops came to their rescue.
The baby was admitted at Reckjoani Hospital in Rajarhat in an unconscious state and on Saturday morning, she was declared dead. Police detained Yasmina and four others for examination.
