Kolkata: Travel agent held for cheating, blackmailing former employee – Times of India

KOLKATA: A travel agent was arrested on Monday evening for allegedly blackmailing and duping a former employee of Rs 15 lakh.
As per the complaint lodged by the 35-year-old woman, she was employed at a travel agency in Baguiati since 2010 and got involved in a relationship with the employer during the period.
“The woman alleged the man had some intimate photographs of them and had started blackmailing the woman. The woman claims he even forced her to get eight credit cards on her name but with the man’s cell phone number registered on them,” said an officer of Bidhannagar Police.
The woman lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police station when she was fired from her job and soon found that the man had withdrawn or made transactions worth Rs 15 lakh using the credit cards.
Cops raided the travel agency’s Baguiati office on Monday evening and arrested the employer. He was produced before a Salt Lake court where he was remanded to four days of police custody.
