Trinamool Congress MLA Madan Mitra was injured in an accident in Kolkata on Friday evening. The legislator was on his way to attend a program when a lorry hit his bike at BT road in the city.
Madan Mitra sustained injuries on his leg.

According to local reports, the TMC leader was not critically injury and was given first aid at a private hospital.
Bengali news portal Sangbad Pratidin reported that Mitra had opted to take his bike, instead of the car, to avoid traffic. The accident happened after due to some confusion, his bike had a head on collision with a lorry, it reported.
Madan Mitra had hit headlines last week after he tore a lotus flower and said that he won’t offer it to Maa Durga as it was BJP’s symbol. The video of the incident had gone viral.
