Calcutta high court breather for Bengal BJP leader – Times of India

Kolkata News

KOLKATA: Calcutta high court on Thursday granted Bengal BJP vice-president Jay Prakash Majumdar a week’s reprieve from police summons issued under Section 41A of CrPC in a cheating case.
Complainant Arup Ratan Roy accused Majumdar of taking Rs 4.2 lakh to facilitate an IOC dealership. Justice Rajasekhar Mantha noted a complaint was filed by the same person on August 26, 2016, accusing Majumdar of taking money to facilitate a government job. “It is argued that a person who was duped earlier could not have given money to the same person after years,” the court noted.
