A 19-year-old man was found dead at a friend’s residence in Kolkata where he was attending a birthday party the previous night.
Deceased Ritesh Modak went over to his friend Kaushik Mondal’s residence on Friday evening to attend the birthday party. Later Saturday morning, when Mondal tried to wake him up, Modak was found unresponsive.
According to The Indian Express, Modak’s mother has held Mondal responsible for her son’s death. The police have said that excessive consumption of alcohol may have caused the death.
When Mondal found Modak was not waking up on Saturday morning, he informed his family and rushed him to the Baghajatin State General Hospital. The hospital declared him dead on arrival.
There were no external injury marks found on Modak. Police said there were blood stains found on his nose but no injury marks anywhere on the body.
Police have also collected samples of the food Modak had eaten the previous night along with other samples. A case of unnatural death has been registered by the police.
On the other hand, the deceased’s mother has lodged a complaint against Mondal, holding him responsible for her son’s death.
