KOLKATA: An 18-year-old youth was arrested on Friday night for allegedly raping a minor girl when she was invited to their home at Haridevpur in south Kolkata during Kali Puja two months ago. His mother was also arrested for allegedly spiking the 16-year-old girl’s food that made her unconscious following which she was abused by the youth.
The young girl is still recuperating from the abuse that allegedly spanned over three days. Cops said she was terrified after the incident and had gone back to her ancestral home before she finally gathered courage and lodged a complaint against the youth and his mother on Friday.
Police said, the girl used to work at a beauty parlour run by the woman in the area.
Officers of Haridevpur police station have booked the two under IPC section 376 (rape), 328, 120B (criminal conspiracy) and section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (aggravated penetrative sexual assault).
