Major fire breaks out at rubber factory in Kolkata, situation under control – India Today

A major fire broke out at a rubber factory in the Tangra area of Kolkata. Nearly 10 fire tenders were rushed to the spot t douse the fire.

By Rajesh Saha: A massive fire broke out at a rubber factory in Kolkata’s Tangra area, damaging the items inside the warehouse. Initially, the local residents poured water to extinguish the fire but due to the storage of flammable materials inside the warehouse, the situation became worse.

Police and the fire department were informed and nearly 10 fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. The situation is under control now while the cooling process is underway.

NO FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN FACTORY

The forensic team will soon visit the spot to examine and find the reason behind the fire. A team of NDRF was also present at the factory where the incident took place.

The divisional fire officer said that they couldn’t find any five extinguisher systems inside the factory.

He also claimed, due to the narrow roads, fire tenders took more time to reach the spot. Meanwhile, Firhad Hakim, Mayor of Kolkata also visited the spot.
