Kolkata: Early Teachers’ Day dispersal leads to snarls – Times of India

Kolkata News

KOLKATA: The early dispersal from some leading south Kolkata schools owing to Teachers’ Day brought a new challenge for Kolkata Traffic Police as several roads in south and central Kolkata witnessed slow movement with vehicles carrying school children jostled for space with office bound traffic.
“Most dispersals in the south-central Kolkata school zone took place between 9.30am and 11.30am, the time when there is already an office rush.
Being a Monday, this rush was naturally higher. With schools dispersing early, the traffic volume on certain roads increased manifold. It was only around noon that things slowly normalized, claimed cops on duty on the ground.
