“Diagnostic and collection centres are going to be set up in unutilised spaces in the metro premises. Various reputed diagnostic centres of the city have already shown interest in setting up such units at metro stations,” a senior metro official said in a statement.
The passengers can now undergo blood tests or pathological tests at stations and the reports of the tests will be available online, the official added.

The Kolkata metro has two operational lines at present. The line from Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash is 31.36 km long and a smaller line from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah is 9.1 km long. Four other lines are in various phases of construction. The metro operates around 300 daily trips carrying more than 700,000 passengers
