Kolkata: Traffic restrictions on Sept 1 for event celebrating Durga Puja’s UNESCO intangible cultural heritage – Times Now

Here’s a list of routes that will be affected:

-Movement of all types of vehicles will be closed along Red Road as per the following schedule:

  • On August 30 from 11 pm up to 4 am on August 31
  • On August 30 from 11 pm up to 6 am on September 1.
  • On September 1, the movement will be stopped as and when considered necessary.
  • On September 2 from 12:30 am up to 5 am.

-Movement of all types of Goods Vehicles (except Emergency Goods Vehicles) shall be restricted in the city of Kolkata within Kolkata Police jurisdiction from 8 am to 8 pm on September 1.

-Movement of Vehicles of all descriptions and carts of all descriptions including tram cars shall be temporarily suspended or diverted or not allowed to be parked on the following roads and approaches, as and when considered necessary by the Traffic Police on duty on September 1:

  • Bhupen Bose avenue (West Bound)
  • JM Avenue
  • CR Avenue
  • Vivekananda Road
  • KK Tagore Street
  • MG Road
  • BB Ganguly Street
  • GC Avenue
  • SN Banerjee Road
  • Lenin Sarani
  • Mayo Road
  • Outram Road
  • RR Avenue
  • JL Nehru Road
  • Dufferin Road
  • Hospital Road
  • Lovers lane
  • Khiddirpore Road
  • New Road
  • Esplanade Ramp
  • Esplanade Row (East)

-Vehicular traffic may also be diverted from any of the arterial roads and feeder roads by the Traffic Police on duty as and when considered necessary, according to the programme of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
