Back to school for virus, but tables have turned in Kolkata – Times of India

Kolkata News
KOLKATA: The return of Covid on campuses has forced schools to try out various permutations and combinations to ensure classes are not disrupted. In one school, there has been a complete reversal of what happened during past waves: now, a Covid-infected teacher is taking classes from home, with students in the classroom!
At Shri Shikshayatan, large screens have been installed in classrooms, where live images of teachers, taking classes from home, are being projected for students to follow. About four teachers are down with either Covid or have high fever or some other health issues; they are conducting classes from home. “We are asking teachers to leverage technology to teach if they are not feeling well,” said Bratati Bhattacharya, the secretary-general.

With Covid and other viral fevers on the rise, many schools are encountering a similar problem. At Mahadevi Birla World Academy, around 10 teachers are down, seven with Covid. At Heritage School, about nine teachers are down with fever, two with Covid. At South City International School, two teachers have tested Covid-positive.
