Kolkata News

KOLKATA: Bengal governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Friday said that Kolkata which is known as the city of joy is now reduced to the city of the retired people.
“We are virtually cliff hanging constitutional governance. We are virtually in the penultimate stage and I am pained,” the governor said.
Dhankhar said that people of Kolkata with great talent, expertise and technical knowledge expertise have been forced to leave for other places. Thus he said that there is flight of talent and for which he was pained as there is less opportunities here.
Santanu Sen, Trinamool MP said that if the governor finds the city not fit for living he should leave the state and he can go to his place of choice. He is working as BJP mouthpiece and trying to slam the state and Kolkata.
Even actor Kaushik Sen said that the governor should withdraw his comment as it is a political statement made by the Governor. He said that as the Trinamool government and governor are at loggerheads so the governor is also criticizing the government.
“He has no right to make such a comment it is indeed made in a bad taste as it dishonours the people of Kolkata. People of Kolkata are least bothered what the governor says.”
