Kolkata: Light showers bring city temp down – Times of India

Kolkata News

Kolkata: A mostly overcast sky with light, intermittent showers in pockets kept the mercury below the normal mark on Wednesday. The Met office expects more spells to keep the temperature under control, but has ruled out heavy downpour in Kolkata for now. A trough of low pressure over the Bay is expected to trigger more rain in the coming days.
“We do not expect any heavy rain in the city for now. There is no major system, like a low-pressure formation, to trigger heavy downpour. But we should be getting sporadic spells that will keep the heat at bay,” said G K Das, director (weather) at RMC, Kolkata. Both the maximum and minimum temperatures — at 31.8˚C and 26.1˚C — were a notch above normal on Wednesday.
