Primary TET Corruption case: Calcutta HC removes Chairman of West Bengal Primary Board – India Today

Calcutta High Court on Monday removed Trinamool MLA Manik Bhattacharya from the post of Chairman of the Board of Primary Education with immediate effect. There were allegations of irregularities against Manik Bhattacharya in the primary teacher recruitment procedures.

On Monday, Calcutta High Court Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay said that Ratna Chakraborty Bagchi, the secretary of the board, would remain in charge till a new appointment is made to the chairman of the board.

The court also said that Manik Bhattacharay would have to appear in person before the court by 2 pm on Tuesday. The judge said Manik would have to answer some questions related to the corruption appearing in court.

The court was hearing an alleged illegal appointment of teachers in West Bengal government-sponsored and aided primary schools.
