Kolkata: Retired banker held for molesting, stalking student – Times of India

KOLKATA: A 63-year-old retired banker was arrested for allegedly stalking and molesting a 25-year-old woman, first in a crowded metro and then outside Maidan metro station on Saturday.
Police said the woman had boarded the metro at Park Street station and was carrying a number of books and study materials when the man struck a conversation and allegedly held her indecently inside the crowded train.
“The woman panicked and got off the train at the next station. But the man started following her. She ran out of the station when the man held her again and allegedly asked her to come with him to a hotel,” said a senior officer of Kolkata Police.
This time the woman raised a cry, grabbed the man and called her friends who were nearby. Bystanders also came to her rescue and held the man till officers from Shakespeare Sarani police station arrested the man.
He was produced before a Bankshall court on Sunday that sent him to judicial custody till Wednesday.
