KOLKATA: A group of three families who had booked a customised trip to Kashmir with a tour operator in south Kolkata were allegedly conned by the operator for around Rs two lakh.
Subha Banerjee has lodged a police complaint alleging he and his friends had paid Rs 1.9 lakh to the operator who was introduced to them through a common friend.
The group contacted him earlier this month and as they were planning an impromptu tour on short notice, they transferred Rs 1.9 lakh to the person’s wife’s account on May 10.
“He had promised to give them an invoice the next day which they said was being delayed. Two days later, his phone was switched off,” an officer said.
