Low pressure may cause drizzle in Kolkata – Times of India

Kolkata News

KOLKATA: Kolkata could receive a light drizzle on Thursday night even as the day remains cloudy under the impact of a low pressure trough. The cloud and a light rain could continue on Friday. But the minimum temperature may not slide below 16 degrees, said the Met office.
A low pressure trough across Uttar Pradesh and Bangladesh is set to trigger clouds. “But the rain will be very light in Kolkata and its surroundings. There could be a spell either on Thursday night or on Friday morning. We don’t expect a significant change in temperature, though,” said Regional Meteorological Centre director GK Das.
Das added that since we have reached the end of winter season, there will not be a sharp drop in the minimum temperature.
“Moisture is coming in from the sea and the northwesterly has lost its intensity. This has cut off the chill. The cloud cover will lead to a slight rise in day temperature over the next 48 hours,” added Das.
