Kolkata: Testing, airport wait to tackle Omicron variant – Times of India

Kolkata News

KOLKATA: On-arrival RT-PCR tests and quarantine even if testing negative for flyers from Dhaka, Singapore and London and institutional quarantine for those testing positive, random testing and a strict watch on each international flyer’s travel history are some of the things the state government has asked the airport authorities to ensure to tackle the rapidly emerging Omicron variant.
Passengers flying into Kolkata from these three places – the only places among the list of ‘at risk’ 12 countries that have a direct connection with Kolkata – will have to get tested on arrival and wait at the terminal for at least six hours for the results before being allowed to leave.
