All Covid-19 vaccinated centres apart from those in private and government hospitals have been suspended for the time being after the face vaccine same shook the state recently.

The state health department will be holding a high-level meeting and then decide the guidelines for vaccination camps.

Kolkata Police said, “Accused Debanjan who organised fake vaccine camps, wrote letters to govt agencies, would put receipt stamps on them to convince victims. He claimed of writing a mail to Serum Institute for Covishield. He confessed to having organised two camps in City College and Kasba. A team conducted a raid at the residence of accused Debanjan and recovered some stamps, forged documents of various departments. Three debit cards and bank passbooks were also recovered.”

The Kolkata Police on Friday constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the fake vaccination drive conducted in the city by a man allegedly masquerading as an IAS officer, a senior officer of the force said.

Debanjan Deb, a 28-year-old man who held several camps where around 2000 people were suspected to have been inoculated, was arrested earlier this week after his drive was busted.
