Domino’s lauds delivery boy for dropping off order during heavy rains in Kolkata. Twitter is divided – India Today

Kolkata News

Domino’s Pizza, a multinational pizza restaurant chain, has been criticised by several social media users after one of their delivery boys dropped off an order to a customer amid adverse weather conditions in Kolkata earlier this week. As the company praised the delivery boy for working in the midst of bad weather, netizens schooled Domino’s for their post and said that this is “clear exploitation of labour.”

In a post on Twitter, Dominos India shared a picture of delivery boy Shovon Ghosh, who was photographed standing with the parcel in a waterlogged street in the West Bengal capital on May 12. Bengal, over the past few days, witnessed heavy rains.

In their appreciation post for Shovon Ghosh, Dominos India said, “A soldier is never off duty! Ours come in blue and deliver hot, fresh and safe meals powering through the rains of Kolkata! We salute the service of our #DominosFoodSoldier Mr Shovon Ghosh who ensured that our stranded customer received their food even in such adverse conditions!”

The post has gone viral on social media with several retweets. In the comments section, some users applauded the delivery boy for his dedication towards work while several others slammed the company for making the man work amid such weather conditions.

“This is inhuman behaviour. Nothing to be proud of,” a user said. On the other hand, another comment reads, “You guys are doing a very good job.”

Twitter is divided over this subject. See the comments here:
