Calcutta University has announced that all undergraduate and postgraduate examinations are being rescheduled. The rescheduled dates would be announced after April 15.  

Flower shop fire

A flower stall made of bamboo on APC Road caught fire early on Thursday. Two tenders doused the flames. No one was injured.

Sanitisers, masks

A team of officers from the enforcement branch visited several pharmacy stores in Baruipur on Thursday and checked for stock of hand sanitisers and masks based on complaints that some shops were selling them at a premium. Shop owners said they were unable to meet the sudden spike in the demand.

Port vessel quarantine

Vessels whose last port was China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, France, Spain, Germany, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Malaysia or the Philippines will be quarantined for 14 days before they are allowed to enter the Kidderpore or Haldia dock. The quarantine period will be calculated from the time they were at the last port.
