Kolkata: Naushad Siddiqui, the lone ISF MLA from Bhangar, was remanded in judicial custody for 14 days by a Bankshall court magistrate. He was arrested after an attack on cops and damage to government property in Esplanade on January 21. Dipankar Kundu, PP, said Siddiqui was involved in a hawala racket and in a design to malign the government. The defence counsel said the MLA was a victim of political conspiracy. tnn
