Kolkata: Need Police clearance certificate? head to these 5 Passport Seva Kendras on September 24 – Times Now

Kolkata: All five Passport Seva Kendras (PSK)s under the Kolkata Regional Passport Office will be kept open on September 24, which is a Saturday, for issuing police clearance certificates (PCC) to passport holders.

Citizens can head to the five PSKs in Kolkata, Siliguri, Gangtok, Behrampore, and Agartala that will be functional for the processing of PCC applications.

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is issued to Indian Passport holders in case they have applied for residential status, employment or Long term visa, or for immigration. PCC cannot be issued for those going abroad on a tourist visa.

“Given the rising demand for police clearance, PSKs will be kept open on September 24,” said Asish Middha, regional passport officer (RPO), Kolkata in a conversation with the Times of India.
PSK Kolkata is expected to process 2,000 applications, PSK Siliguri 250, Gangtok 130, Behrampore 603, and Agartala 227 on the coming Saturday.

The PCC applicants can reach the PSKs for submission of the PCC applications in the slots allotted to them in the online appointment on www.passportindia.gov.in.

Those who have already taken appointments can reschedule the dates to September 24 and new PCC applicants can also make appointments for Saturday.

Only those applicants who have obtained PCC appointments for the day will be catered to. Tatkal, on-hold files, and walk-in applications would not be accepted, said Middha.

As per a press release on the website of the regional passport office of Kolkata, online payment has been made mandatory for booking appointments at Passport Seva Kendra(s) under the Kolkata Passport Office.
