Kolkata: CBI’s ‘Ponzi’ search at TMC leaders’ properties – Times of India

Kolkata News

KOLKATA: The CBI on Sunday searched at least five properties in and around the city linked with Trinamool leaders Subodh Adhikari and his brother Kamal Adhikari after their names surfaced during the interrogation of Halisahar Municipality chairman Raju Sahani, arrested two days ago in connection with an alleged Ponzi probe.
Subodh is an MLA from Bijpur in North 24 Parganas. Kamal is the chairman of the Kanchrapara Municipality, in the same district. Agency sources said they discovered that the Adhikaris were close friends with Sahani and suspected some “transactions” between them and Sahani.
CBI officers first went to Mangaldeep Apartment, which contains Subodh’s office, adjacent to his ancestral home – which has Kamal’s office – in Halisahar.
Other teams reached three of the Adhikaris’ flats in Kolkata: at Patipukur, Pai-kpara and Lake Town’s Dakshindari.
