Kolkata: The BJP on Tuesday moved to the Calcutta HC after not getting permission to hold a political meeting in West Bengal’s Howrah on July 21. BJP’s lawyer notified the court that the party was denied permission to hold a political rally in Howrah Rural for the campaign for Prime Minister’s works on July 21.

Notably, July 21st is also the ruling party in the state, TMC’s Martyr’s Day. The party is set to hold the Martyrs’ Day rally this year in Kolkata after a gap of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the rally is happening after a gap of two years, the party is leaving no stone unturned for its grand success.

On the other hand, reports said that the BJP planned the rally on July 21 to counter TMC’s Martyr’s Day rally.
