Calcutta high court to hear Rampurhat case today – Times of India

KOLKATA: Calcutta high court will be hearing the Rampurhat case on Wednesday afternoon. Meanwhile, a forensic team reached the village where eight were burnt and they collected samples for the probe.
Also on Wednesday, Left Front leaders including Biman Bose and Md Salim had gone to the village to convey their condolences to the bereaved family members. However, police tried to prevent them from entering the village, as the forensic team is collecting samples, it might affect their work. A BJP delegation is also coming to the village today.
The police have lodged FIR under various sections of IPC including 302 (murder), 325 and 326 (grievous injury), 435 and 436 (mischief to destory by fire) and also for rioting. The 11 arrested persons will be produced in the court today.
Senior police officers are also camping in the village and in presence of them the body of Bhadu Sheikh who murder led to the burning of houses was cremated.
