Bangabandhu’s 102nd birth anniversary celebrated in Kolkata – Times of India

Bangladesh deputy high commission in Kolkata on Thursday observed 102 birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman which is also celebrated as children’s day.
Kolkata’s mayor Firhad Hakim was the chief guest of the programme.
Hakim described Bangabandhu as one of the leading secular leaders of the continent.
The Bangladesh deputy high commissioner in Kolkata, Toufique Hasan, paid floral tribute to Bangabandhu.
A film on the life of Bangabandhu was also shown in the day.
A drawing competition was also held for children and the winners were awarded and a cultural program was held later.
During the day a teaser poster based on the biopic of Bangabandhu titled Mujib: The Making Of A Nation was released.
The biopic is directed by Shyam Benegal. The film which is a joint venture of India and Bangladesh is likely to be released this year. Arifin Shuvoo is playing the role of Mujib in the film Mujib The Making of A Nation.
