    Vaishno Devi stampede: 15 injured brought to hospital, 4 in ICU, says doctor

    Following the stampede at Vaishno Devi shrine, 15 injured people were brought to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital. Of the injured, four were admitted to the ICU, reports ANI citing Dr JP Singh, a neurosurgeon at the hospital.  

    “11 people were stable, out of which three to four people were discharged after first aid. Around five are still under treatment,” he said.

    As many as 12 people died and 13 others were injured in the stampede at Vaishno Devi shrine, reports ANI citing Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh. 

    “The incident occurred around 2.45 am, and as per initial reports, an argument broke out which resulted in people pushing each other, followed by stampede,” he said.

India sends 500,000 Covid-19 vaccines to Afghanistan

On December 11, the Indian government sent 1.6 tonnes of medicines to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health in Kabul on a special charter flight that also ferried 85 Afghan nationals who were stuck in India after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
