A Calcutta High Court lawyer, Sanatan Ray Chowdhari, was arrested by the Kolkata Police on Tuesday over allegations of forgery, impersonation of public servant, and criminal conspiracy with others for land and a building under Gariahat Police Station area.
The accused used to travel in a car with a blue beacon and identified himself as the Standing Counsel of the West Bengal Government.

He posed as a CBI Special Counsel on social media. He also posted other details which are contradictory and being verified.
This comes after fake IAS officer Debanjan Deb was arrested in connection with the dubious vaccine camps case in Kolkata.
A special investigation team (SIT) of the Kolkata Police is currently probing the matter and nine people, including prime accused Debanjan Deb, were arrested so far.
