KOLKATA: Calcutta high court will hear the case against actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty on June 30. Justice Kausik Chanda on Friday held that the matter would be heard next week after the public prosecutor submitted in court that the investigating officer of Maniktala police station would question the accused virtually on Monday about his inciting remarks during an election campaign.
An FIR was lodged against Chakraborty for his “marbo ekhane, lash porbe smashane” speech. Chakraborty had moved the HC seeking quashing of the FIR. He had said his comments were merely dialogues borrowed from Bengali movies and had nothing to do with his actions.
