A comparative analysis shows that there were above 3,200 active cases even before the festival season could fully begin. Since then, in a span of four months, we witnessed decreasing active cases on a weekly basis,” said an officer at Lalbazar. There were 56 active cases daily even till the end of December . This fell to 20 by mid-January.
The cops reiterated that though the decline in cases is appreciable, the SOP will be in place as danger still lurks.
