Kolkata: Six held for kidnapping Kerala businessman – Times of India

KOLKATA: Six associates of a Keralite businessman were arrested on charges of assaulting and kidnapping friend of a Keralite investor when he had come to Kolkata to take money from the businessman on Wednesday.
Police said, Abdul Salam, a resident of Kozhikode owed money from Musammil Mottemmal, who is presumably settled abroad but had asked Salam to come to Kolkata to collect the sum from his brother and some associates. On Wednesday, Mottemmal had asked Salam to come at a place behind City Centre-II to collect his money. “When they reached the spot, they were assaulted by a group of men. They also allegedly kidnapped one of Salam’s friends. Later, they allegedly called and demanded Rs 2 lakh as ransom,” said an officer.
Bidhannagar cops, however, tracked down the miscreants and rescued the kidnapped Keralite.
