KOLKATA: Two decomposed bodies of a doctor couple, who were in their seventies, were found at their flat in Baranagar’s T N Chatterjee Street on Sunday.
Police sent the bodies for post mortem on Sunday. The couple might have died a couple of days ago, added cops.
The couple’s daughter, who is a divorcee, had been staying with them for the past few years. Neighbours, however, are puzzled at the fact that why she did not inform them or the cops.
The neighbours were alerted by foul smell emitting from the flat.
The couple, identified as A K Choudhury and S Choudhury, were found dead on their bed. Police were informed by a relative on Sunday, whom the daughter of the couple had contacted for their treatment earlier.
Neighbours felt that it was nearly a repeat of the Robinson Street horror house incident, where Partha De had been living with the skeleton of his sister. In a similar incident in Behala, a son had kept the body of his mother in a freezer to allegedly use her thumb impression to withdraw the pension. He, too, was found mentally disabled.
Neighbours felt that the daughter, who’s single, was mentally disturbed.
