* Release of 2 Bengali films get postponed due to coronavirus outbreak
Release of at least two Bengali films have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak, industry sources said. Late actor Tapas Paul’s last film Banshi, co-directed by Tuhin Sinha and Rahul, was scheduled to be released on Friday but has been postponed till the theatres reopen.
* West Bengal first private lab gets nod for coronaviurs test
Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals Kolkata (AGHK) is all set to start testing Covid-19 samples soon. So far, the hospital’s laboratory is the only private laboratory in the state that that has got the nod from ICMR (Indian Council for Medical Research) to run a test on swab samples of Covid-19 suspected patients. The hospital is waiting for kits to arrive to take in samples.
* From bikers to barbers, 2,000 held for breaking lockdown in city
Kolkata Police has arrested 2,327 persons so far, including 1,874 in first 48 hours of lockdown. From people roaming with friends around Rabindra Sarobar to travelling from Behala and Mukundapur to catch up with friends at Jadavpur, police have found several instances of people violating the lockdown on flimsiest grounds. Most of the arrests involve groups of people.
