Gang in ‘corona masks’ loots jewellery shop in Kolkata – Times of India

KOLKATA: A group of five robbers in ‘corona masks’ posed as customers and robbed a jewellery showroom on Madhyamgram Station Road on Friday evening. They also beat up the owner and employees and looted most of the ornaments and cash worth rupees several lakhs kept in the showcase and locker at the gun point.
The showroom owner and employees said that they initially didn’t suspect the masked men as they thought they were customers wearing masks for safety reasons to protect themselves from nCoV.
Police are looking for the culprits. According to a local, it was around 5.40pm when the gang entered the near empty showroom close to Madhyamgram flyover.
A team led by Abhijit Banerjee, SP, Barasat also visited the spot to investigate the case.
