Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address a pro-CAA rally in Kolkata on Sunday. He will also visit Kalighat temple to offer prayers.

Shah will also visit the NSG unit in Madhyamgram. The Left protesters are likely to greet the Union Home Minister with ‘go-back slogans and waving of black flags. The Left student’s wing will protest in several parts of Kolkata and hold protests rallies across the city, including Park Circus, Jadavpur, Entally, Behala, among others. Several Left Unions will protest in Esplanade and several other locations.

SFI state president Srijan Bhattachray said, “Many people died in North East Delhi but the Union Home Minister failed to control the situation. It is the failure of the government to control violence.”

A protest will be staged against Amit Shah’s on his arrival in Kolkata near Mohammedan Sporting Club with an individual request of appointment letter with the Union Home Minister.

Meanwhile, a huge dais has been set up at Shahid Minar for Amit Shah and there will assembly of around 1.5 lakh people in the ground, BJP’s Bengal unit said.

Shah will address a pro-CAA rally at Shahid Minar ground and then visit Kalighat temple to offer prayers.
